MHMP Update: Decreasing the impacts of natural hazards

News ImageThe Solano County Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan (MHMP) Update will be the county's primary tool to reduce or eliminate long-term risk to people and property from natural hazards in Solano County. The MHMP will identify the natural hazards that affect the County, their impacts, and mitigation actions to address and minimize those impacts. The MHMP Update Planning Team is seeking the public's help and input during the MHMP Update process.

News ImageCounty Superior Court and Board of Supervisors announce selection of new Chief Probation Officer
The Judges of the Solano County Superior Court and the Solano County Board of Supervisors jointly announced the selection of Christopher Hansen as the new Chief Probation Officer for Solano County. Hansen is serving as the Chief Probation Officer for the U.S. Probation Office, Federal District of Nevada in Las Vegas.  He replaces recently retired Isabelle Voit.  His selection was the result of a joint review process of candidates by both the Superior Court and the County of Solano. Hansen will begin his duties in March 2012.

Community invited to check out Solano County Events Center


The Solano County Events Center is open and available for public use, and the community is invited to come by and check out the facility as a possible venue for their next event. Open houses are scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. on the following Fridays: Jan. 13, Jan. 20, Jan. 27 and Feb. 3.  If you are unable to stop by during these times, call 784-7900 to schedule an appointment.

Community meetings program to continue in 2012
The County will continue in 2012 its successful community meetings program designed to provide an interactive forum that keeps residents in the unincorporated area informed on issues of importance to them. "Based on the comments from the attendees, our outreach efforts have been a success.  Not only were we able to pass on useful information to the residents, we had the opportunity to hear about the issues of importance to them.  We hope to continue this valuable exchange," said David Cliché, Solano County Chief Building Official.
